Quick and easy fishtail braids tutorial! After doing this once you will be a master at the fishtail braid. I love creating this look for a simple put-together look! You start with two separate fishtail braids and then at the end we will tie them in together around the crown of your head. Let’s get started!
What you will need:
- Brush: Gentle on your hair
- Curling Wand: One of my favorites for beauty waves
- Hair Clips
- Bobby Pins
- Hairspray
- Clear hair bands: Love these ones!
Step 1:
First, separate your hair to begin the braiding process. Take equal amounts of hair and enough to be able to fishtail one braid.
Step 2:
Next, start taking pieces of hair from one braid and crossing over to the next group of the braid. You will be weaving back and forth!
Step 3:
Now, when doing this braid you can either do a dutch braid and go under and over or do a general braid and go over and under! Which ever you prefer and is easier for you.
Step 4:
Then, your braid should look similar to this one! It will look skinny and pitiful but we will make it look thick in the next steps!
Step 5:
Repeat step 4 on the other side.
Step 6:
Now, you are going to start pulling apart the braid on both sides. This is how we get the thicker looking braid. Start with the bottom and pull it apart all the way to the top.
Step 7:
Now pull both braids together and secure with clear hair bands! Use bobby pins to keep the braid in place and you are done! Great Job! 🙂
