Sharing My Most Used Skincare Products
Skincare is always a hot topic. What products can I use to make my skin perfect, pore-less, acne-free, wrinkle-free? Well the short answer is there not just one special product that will erase all of the negative things you do not like about your skin or complexion. However, I’ve come across a few products that are helping to clear up my skin, little by little.
I suffer from hormonal and cystic acne. Plus my pores suck!! ugh. I think it’s genetics because my whole family has experienced similar problems too. My skin and I have been on a roller-coaster of emotions. It can cause you to be very self-conscious when you have breakouts. There are times I won’t even leave the house!! That’s how extreme I’ve taken it. So if you’re experiencing the same thing and can relate to my hermit personality when my breakouts come knocking, then you’re not alone!
Testing the Products First
I’ve been using these products for about 6 months now. To be completely honest, the brand reached out to me to collaborate and I’ve been so curious about them for months that I was super excited to see what the hype was all about. This is not a sponsored post but I like to be honest when a company sends me something to try out and I already went through all the product! I waited months before I even started talking about the brand on my social media because I wanted to see if the results really worked for my skin type. This is just one out of multiple brands that I have been using on my skin. I bought all of these products on my own and wanted to share this post in hopes of helping someone who feels the same way I do about our skin.
Also, to preface, my skincare regimen may not work for you or all skin types- but I’m hoping that it at least helps one person and makes you feel better about your skin!
Clean Beauty Brands
So far, I swear by organic, cruelty-free, clean products! I really have seen such a difference in my complexion. The brand I started using continuously is called, Tula. I’ve seen a major difference in my skin as you can see below in the before and after pictures. I couldn’t believe the difference! Below I will share my step by step regimen. But to get clear skin you have to try multiple things– especially for me with my sensitive skin.
It’s not an overnight success, it’s a work in progress!!
Not every single product I use is a clean beauty brand but a majority of my routine is. Sometimes my skin needs a stronger chemical to combat those breakouts! I’m also a skincare junkie and love trying new products so I like to switch up my routine. Currently, my routine has not strayed too far from the below steps.
What Contributes to My Clear Skin
I started getting monthly facials about 2 months ago, which include microdermabrasion and light chemical peels. This is my way to pamper myself once a month (since I do my own nails now haha and budgeting myself). When I started with my facials they introduced me to a new brand that I haven’t heard of called Eminence, which is an organic skincare line. I’ve been using their Stone Crop Oxygenating Fizzofoliant and their serum, Eight Greens Youth, which feels amazing on your skin. The exfoliant is gentle enough to use daily and the serum is very hydrating. I am in love with it! Also, for redness I love the Restore, from BioClarity that helps reduce redness, hyper-pigmentation and uneven skin tone.
I have been really restricting dairy from my diet. I believe that dairy is a major cause in my breakouts. I’ve switched to dairy-free and vegan cheeses and let me tell you, it’s not that bad! I also really want to take a food allergy test, because I believe a lot of my breakouts are caused by foods that I am allergic to. I will keep you posted if I end up going though with it!
The One Chemical I Use For Harsh Breakouts
So one product that is not a clean beauty brand but I feel is very effective on clearing up my acne breakouts is the spot treatment by Mario Badascu, Drying Lotion. This is my holy grail! I love that it’s inexpensive and it works great! This one is my FAVORITE and it works really fast!
It honestly took me this long to post because I was embarrassed about how badly my skin was breaking out. I know I’m not the only one and should feel more comfortable in my own skin so here we go!
