Staycation at The Industrialist Hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh

Now more than ever I found myself desiring a mini trip to relax and have a little fun! Ever since moving back to Pittsburgh a couple years ago I’ve been gravitating toward the city life. I love being downtown and in the Strip District because of the atmosphere and the amazing food!

Recently, this past weekend my sister Michelle and I did a staycation at the beautiful iconic hotel, The Industrialist, located in Downtown Pittsburgh. As soon as we walked through the big front doors, we were greeted by the friendly staff.  The staff was very kind and really made our stay so memorable! They really pay attention to detail at the hotel and make you feel very welcomed.

Once our bags were up to our floor, we couldn’t wait to open the doors to our hotel room on the 12th floor. We were instantly taken away by the breathtaking views of the historical downtown skyline. The room is filled with large windows so you can’t miss a chance to glance at the view! The guest room was so pretty with industrial modern furniture, fixtures and accents.

Location

Let’s talk location! The Industrialist Hotel, Autograph Collection, is located in Downtown Pittsburgh off of Wood Street. You are just blocks from Market Square and surrounded by numerous places to eat. The 124-room hotel is in the iconic downtown location and close to restaurants, shopping, Point State Park, PPG Plaza, Heinz Hall, Museums and more!

Dining

If you’re not looking to travel far to grab a bite to eat, then you’re in luck! The hotel has a restaurant called The Rebel Room. Michelle and I could not wait to try it out! It was one of the highlights of our trip. We were instantly greeted by two friendly bartenders who were very knowledgeable about the menu and the delicious drinks! We started off with handcrafted cocktails, an Old Fashioned and the Allegheny.

For an appetizer with started with Sweet Potato Poutine. This is a must-try in my opinion!! It simply melts in your mouth it’s that good! Next up, for our meals Michelle went with the Short Ribs and I grabbed the Steak Frites. We were smiling ear to ear because of how delicious the food was and the service was amazing! If you are staying at the hotel or looking for a date night, I highly recommend the The Rebel Room. The bar-centric modern restaurant is the perfect spot to grab a fun cocktail and a great meal.

The Amenities

While staying at the Industrialist Hotel one of my favorite places to see was the lobby lounge. It is a vibrant and beautifully decorated space with chairs to lounge in after exploring or tables to catch up on some work. It’s the perfect spot to mingle and relax. The decor was my favorite! If your an active person then you’ll most likely find yourself exploring the fitness center and working on your cardio! A great amenity while staying at the hotel and working off the delicious food! Speaking of food, having the Rebel Room inside the hotel makes it a great location and the food will have you coming back for more visits.

The Experience

Our sister staycation at the Industrialist hotel was an amazing and memorable time! It was an experience that we will always remember and can’t wait to visit again. Whether your coming from out of town or doing a staycation, the Industrialist hotel is the perfect stay for your trip. Relax in a beautiful room with breathtaking views of the city.
